Halliford school is a selective and independent day school for boys and sixth form girls, located in Shepperton, Surrey. Halliford sixth-form has only recently become co-educational. The school was founded in 1921 and the main building is a fine Georgian House set in ten acres beside the Thames which was once home to Emma, Lady Hamilton, Lord Nelson's mistress. Halliford has an excellent sporting tradition and boys from the school have played sports such as rugby, cricket and basketball to the highest level.
The school motto is "Via firma ad firmora", which means "A firm path to firmer things". The school logo represents the bend in the river where the school is situated. The school is divided up into 4 houses, Wadham, Russell, Greville and Desborough; represented by red, green, blue and gold. The current headmaster of the school is Phillip Cottam, who became headmaster in 2002.
Former pupils of the school are known as Old Hallifordians or OHs.
Notable alumni includes actor Mark Lester and Olympic Gold medalist Stephen Trapmore.
